| I have found this to be as advertised. This is my 2nd one over a 4 year span. The first one was also as advertised my error broke it. You do have to wet the chest strap contacts to get it going at first use each time. I have found them to be very accurate at all times. |
Confusing controls; Inadequate Display |

| I bought this as a replacement for the Timex HRM that stopped working after about a year. While the Acumen does a good job, it's certainly much harder to use. The instructions are not easy to follow at all and it took me a long time to figure out how to reset it after each session. The other big problem is that the heart rate and the calories consumed are displayed on different screens, so if you use those two measures during a workout (as I do) then you have to keep pressing buttons while working out. Also, the "fitness level" number it is uses isn't very helpful. And unlike the Timex, I have to scroll through the displays to see the outcomes of the last workout. |

| I am on my third acumen eon basix plus. The 2nd one we mistakenly packed in a bag we checked
at the airport, and the watch magically disappeared. The HRM has a shakey reputation. I love the heart rate monitor (HRM). I buy it because it has: time in target zone time above target zone time below target zone. In my research, the acumen basix plus is the only HRM that offers those three times. Other HRM have variations on "times they maintain", but I personally think the three that are needed are the "times" on the basix plus. My first lasted about 4 years. The strap got a little weak and I guess I needed to change a battery - I don't remember. But at that point, I just bought a new one. The 2nd one lasted until we packed it in the bag. whatever you get, enjoy ur walk/run/ride! david - Texas |

| I have owned this product since Nov 2004. I have found this watch to be reliable and durable. Not too fancy, I just wanted to track my heart rate and calorie consumption. To replace the watch battery was a little tricky but I managed it. I lost the owners manual and can not find one on line. So it has taken me a little extra time to get the watch back to the correct time and date, but otherwise I have been satisfied with my purchase. |
Good HR Monitor, Durability Issues |

| This is my first HR Monitor and I was initially very happy with the price and ease of use. However after about 3 mos. it began to malfunction indicating my HR was 200+ even while I was at rest. The only thing I can figure out is something happened while using it in the pool for my training (chlorine levels?? suggested by one website I found). The timing was particularly poor as it stopped working 1 week before my 1st triathlon and I was forced to purchase another monitor to use, so I probably won't even pursue a return. I guess I got what I paid for. |
